Worship
AM Worship begins at 9:30AM, you’ll find us sitting on the left side of the Sanctunasium (facing the stage) when you come in. We follow our worship service with a coffee/hot chocolate bar during our transition to Bible Study which begins at 11AM. Sunday nights we meet again for worship at 6PM & usually head to Moe’s for dinner afterwards.
Bible Study Classes
First Year Students
Teachers: Jeremy and Meghan Jester – Jeremy & Meghan met here in Gainesville & were married in 2007. Meghan is a graduate from UF with a degree in Journalism & currently is the Administrative Assistant at UF’s BCM. Jeremy is a Project Manager for Perry Roofing & also the drummer for Six Days From Sunday.
Second Year Students
Teachers: Robert and Allison Privette – Robert & Allison met while in college at UF & were married in 1998. Allison is a graduate from UF with a degree in Education. Robert is a graduate from UF with a degree in Nutritional Science and is the founder of Footstone Design, a web & print development company. Robert also leads the band Six Days From Sunday. Robert & Allison have two awesome kids Coley & Kate.
Third Year Students
Teachers: Rick and Katherine Cheshire – Rick & Katherine met at NCBC back in 1980. Katherine was a transplanted yankee, & Rick was a good ole boy raised in the 352. As the story goes Rick told all the other guys, “You can have all the rest of the girls, but she’s (Katherine) mine.” And the rest as they say is history! Rick & Katherine have four great kids: Wayne Jr. Matt & Polly Cheshire (the newlyweds) and Rachel Cheshire.
Fourth Year & Grad Students
Teacher: Dr. Dwain Johnson – Dr. Dwain was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and raised on a cattle and wheat farm in Abilene,TX. He attended college at Texas A&M University & Oklahoma State University. He has worked at California State University and has been a faculty member at the University of Florida since 1984.
Fellowship & Serving
The life of our ministry is made stronger each week through fellowship & service. Wednesday nights we usually hang out for dinner between 5-6pm. It’s only $5 for the AUCE dinner, plus your first one is on us! After dinner many of us serve in our Wednesday night ministries (i.e. AWANA, Conversational English, Youth, & Celebration Choir). We’re also usually up for basketball or volleyball Wednesday’s around 7:45pm. We have quite a few students that hang out at BCM, FCA, & CRU during the week, which are great outreach to the 60,000+ students here in Gainesville. Friday nights are a time that we gather for dinner (6pm…$2) and Bible Study over at Robert & Allison Privette’s house. Our church is committed to seeing students go deeper in their walk with Christ so they can make an impact on their campus now and in their lives after college.
